Nepali Language Class for Kids & Students

Give your child the gift of language and culture! Our Nepali Language Classes help kids and students learn to read, write, and speak Nepali confidently while connecting with their heritage. Saturdays • Ages 5–18 • Beginner to Intermediate Levels.


About the Class

Our Nepali Language Classes are designed for children and students who want to learn Nepali in a fun, interactive, and supportive environment. The classes focus on practical communication skills, reading, writing, and cultural understanding through songs, stories, games, and storytelling.

These classes are offered by the Nepali Community Center for community enrichment and cultural preservation. They are not run for financial gain.


Who Should Join

  • Children ages 5–12 who want to learn Nepali basics.
  • Teen students ages 13–18 looking to improve conversational skills.
  • Heritage learners seeking to maintain connection with family language.
  • Students preparing for school projects, cultural events, or family communication.

Class Levels & Learning Goals

Beginner (Ages 5–12):

  • Basic Nepali words and phrases
  • Simple greetings, numbers, colors, and family terms
  • Introduction to Nepali script (optional)
  • Fun activities: songs, games, and storytelling

Intermediate (Ages 10–18):

  • Short sentences and conversations
  • Reading and writing practice
  • Vocabulary for festivals, food, and daily life
  • Participation in cultural activities and events

Advanced / Conversation (Teens 13–18):

  • Fluency in everyday conversation
  • Reading short stories and poems
  • Writing short essays or letters
  • Deeper understanding of Nepali culture and traditions

Schedule

  • 1st and 3rd Sunday: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Teaching Approach

  • Interactive, activity-based lessons with games and storytelling.
  • Oral communication emphasized before reading and writing.
  • Small class sizes to give each child individual attention.
  • Encouragement of cultural participation through songs, dances, and festivals.
  • Family-friendly: parents can join younger children during class.

Teachers

All classes are taught by experienced instructors who are native Nepali speakers. They bring language learning to life with cultural stories, songs, and interactive practice.

To Register:

  • Complete our online registration form or visit the NCC front desk.
  • Registration includes: child’s name, age, grade, parent contact info, preferred level, and any special needs.

Q: My child doesn’t know Nepali. Can they join?
A: Absolutely! Beginners start with oral practice; reading and writing come later.

Q: Are classes age-specific?
A: Yes. We group children by age and skill level for the best learning experience.

Q: What materials are needed?
A: Notebook, pencil/pen, and enthusiasm! Handouts provided in class.

Q: Can my child participate in cultural activities?
A: Yes! Monthly cultural sessions are included in the program.
